School Description
Cane Ridge High School boasts a student body as diverse as the opportunities within our walls. Our academic programs are designed to prepare students for next steps in life and their education.
We offer small community learning environments within each of our four Academies. Our Academy of Law includes a pathway in law enforcement services, offering mock trials, field trips and skills competitions. Students in the Academy of Health Management can participate in healthcare-related internships, service learning projects and hear guest speakers to supplement pathways in health business, health informatics, and health and wellness services. Pathways in design and pre-construction, carpentry, concrete and electrical are possible within our Academy of Architecture and Construction, where we assist students with earning industry-recognized certifications. Broadcasting, interactive multimedia and visual arts are each pathways within our Academy of Arts and Communications, which develops students’ leadership skills through its Academy clubs, student organizations and community service projects.
Beyond the Academies, advanced academic opportunities include: Honors classes, the Senior Capstone Experience, scholarship fulfillment opportunities, advanced placement and dual enrollment courses, Arabic as a foreign language, and AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education). All AICE-level courses (available in 10th through 12th grades) culminate with a Cambridge exam, allowing students to earn college credits upon passing. AICE courses are among the highest level available to students in our district and across the world.
We also have plenty of extracurricular activities to explore. Debate and Speech, Color Guard, Newspaper and Dance Club are only a few. Our Performance Arts groups, including Band, Symphony, Chorus, Dance and Drama, are very active and perform several times a year for the community. Soccer, baseball and softball, track and field, golf and bowling are only some of 14 TSSAA sports teams our students can join. Go Ravens!
Students can have such a well-rounded experience at Cane Ridge High School that it's hard to summarize here. We strive to assist our students in realizing their full potential as responsible, productive, contributing members of society by providing an educational environment where they are challenged, where excellence is expected and where differences are valued.
